What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Manager position at SYRINGA HOSPITAL & CLINICS?
Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Health Informatics Technology Department which encompasses all technology including hardware, software, networks, EHR, FOIP, and tele- and video conferencing.
Essential Duties:
- Investigates and facilitates resolutions of identified IT issues, including equipment, software functionality and workflow. Assists in individualizing equipment configuration for end users to improve workflow and/or satisfaction.
- Manages the relationship with the EHR vendor.
- Develops short term and long-range strategic planning/budgeting for new or upgraded IT technology. Manages the in house and outsourced IT services.
- Manages all IT contracts for EHR, network, telehealth, and others as needed.
- Manages the security of the IT infrastructure, use and access; develops and oversees departmental and organization wide policies to assures compliance and security.
- Develops the department annual budget; pays bills; approves and manages department staff time and attendance.
- Responsible for the department’s participation in SHC’s Performance Improvement program, including development and review of internal department quality monitors, tracking and reporting quarterly PI findings in a timely manner, reporting all patient quality issues, and facilitating on-going education for staff regarding their role in the PI process.
Extensive knowledge of Cerner EHR preferred or a minimum of two years of healthcare experience in EHR system required. Knowledge of networks and security; project management experience a plus. Must be capable of handling multiple tasks quickly, calmly and professionally. Demonstrates organizational, communication and customer service skills.
