JOB SUMMARY

Provides analytic thought leadership supporting revenue management objectives through standard and ad hoc analysis, modeling, reporting, and insights to optimize revenue and margin results across U.S. Broadline (USBL) operations. Support internal customers including Corporate, Market, OpCo (operating company), and other related functional leaders with reporting and recommendations focused on department strategic objective results and business insights. Reports to Revenue Management Senior Director; will partner to investigate specific trends and needs, as well as special projects across the margin waterfall.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides results reporting and analysis on Sysco funded deals, CPAS (centralized performance assessment)/MDA’s, and other customer investment decisions as well as performance versus established pricing and margin thresholds.
  • Generates equity and factor analytics to show business implication and results of existing and changes in metrics including but not limited to GP, Volume and Margin.
  • Analyzes trends and develops insights for Revenue Management leaders to cause a bias for action to optimize revenue/cases and margin.
  • Review, analyze, and explain P&L (margin components) results at the USBL level; communicates on outliers or benchmarking of case volume and margin performance to encourage action by engaging performance management meetings.
  • Supports execution of all phases of Revenue Management initiatives with analytics, including but not limited to tailoring the overall strategy for sales representative cost, customer price, and deals.
  • Works with field revenue management leadership to implement centralized reporting and standard analytics processes in the market; partners in training key personnel as needed.
  • Collaborates with field Revenue Management leadership and analysts to develop appropriate solutions, aligned with market and corporate strategies, to address business challenges.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or other analytical fields of study preferred.


Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in a Revenue Management, Sales or Finance/Merchandising role.
  • 3 years of analytical experience
  • 5 years of experience working in a project, results-driven or field engagement type role is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrates well-developed communication abilities with the capacity to easily connect credibly with stakeholders and transfer business insights for action at different levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
  • Able to recognize field/business margin and revenue issues, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies and drive practical solutions
  • Ability to think quantitatively, develop reporting based on business cases/needs to diagnose root causes/results drivers.
  • Quickly analyze new or existing reporting for insights to prioritize opportunities and effectively synthesis for leadership.
  • Experience modeling data and creating field ready reporting and insight tools
  • Deep understanding of Excel required as well as advanced PowerPoint skillset.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office suite of products preferred.
  • Possesses strong business objects or similar reporting tool history and skillset; SAP/SUS capability optimal.
