CDL A Delivery Route Driver

Sysco is the leading distributor of food and related products to the foodservice industry. We are seeking a highly skilled CDL A Delivery Truck Driver to join our team in Harrisonburg, VA.

Job Description:

The CDL A Delivery Truck Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer and manually unloading/delivering various products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a tractor-trailer and navigate through urban and rural areas
• Manually unload/deliver products to customer locations
• Build relationships with customers and become familiar with their operations to meet their needs and expectations
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and communicate with dispatchers and other team members as needed

Requirements:

• 21 years of age
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Touch freight – ability to lift, push or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly
• Flexibility – overtime as required, weekends and holidays as business needs require

Preferred Requirements:

• 1 year customer delivery experience preferred
• 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred
• 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred
• 2 years consistent work history preferred
