Job Summary
">Sysco is seeking a highly skilled CDL A Local Delivery Driver to join our team. As a CDL A Local Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting product from the warehouse to various customer locations and delivering product according to customer invoices and company standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safely transport product from the warehouse to customer locations and ensure timely delivery according to assigned route.
- Unload product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and place in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Pick up, load, and unload damaged goods and customer returns, and transport products back to SYGMA warehouse.
- Evaluate and complete all paperwork according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g., DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports, and pre- and post-trip reports).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deliveries, including dates, times, and quantities delivered.
- Develop and establish good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.
- Communicate with management team regarding any deviations to route, trailer, or loading issues and/or customer or product issues.
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required.
- At least one year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
- Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school accepted instead of or in addition to a high school diploma.
