JOB SUMMARY

The Contract & Bid Foreign Trade Zone Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing daily oversight of all FTZ  transactions for Sysco South Florida.  Associate will conduct the daily FTZ operations, compliance review and administrative functions.  This person reports directly to the Contract Sales – Cruise Manager. Associate will partner across the company to provide foreign trade compliance guidance and develop processes to ensure compliance. This individual will also respond to inquiries from internal and external customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance Specialist will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.

• Respond to daily internal and external compliance inquiries
• Review/Prepare FTZ admission (e-214)
• Review/Prepare withdrawals for exportation and IT (QP/WP CBP Forms 7512)
• Review/Prepare withdrawals for consumption with designated customs broker
• Review/Prepare withdrawals for bonded warehouses and zone to zone transfers
• Review/Prepare manipulations, destructions and temporary removals (CBPF 216)
• Operate the FTZ inventory control and record keeping system.
• Process and verify FTZ related data.
• Reconcile the inventory records within the FTZ software.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports required of the FTZ
• Daily auditing of CBP documents prior to submission to CBP
• Interface with CBP, including Officers, Supervisory Inspectors, Port Directors and Ace account reps. 
• Interface with cruise line customer, brokers, forwarders, carriers and Sysco operation teams.
• Will need to maintain an overview of all incoming bonded products into Sysco South Florida, by interfacing with vendors, Sysco Receiving and Operations. 
• Responsible for accounting support, billings
• Maintain proficiency on applicable laws and regulations issued by various government agencies and translate them into business compliance best practices.
• Follow established internal compliance procedures with active input for improvement to increase business growth.
• Explain regulations, procedures, and policies to employees and stakeholders, as necessary
• Other duties as assigned – depending on the status of ongoing projects and support needed on the different areas of customs compliance including but not limited to audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts preferred.

Experience

• 1 year prior outside foodservice sales or B2B experience.
• Preferred 2 years of prior foodservice sales, B2B experience, restaurant management or culinary background.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets Company insurability standards.

Professional Skills:

• Prior Foreign Trade Zone Compliance experience preferred
• Prior experience dealing directly with US Customs and Border Protection preferred
• Ability to establish appropriate timelines and to meet project milestones and timelines

• The individual should be self-motivated and be capable of working as part of a team or alone with little supervision.
