JOB SUMMARY
The inventory control supervisor position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the inventory control function, which includes cycle counts, adjustments, investigations, reporting, gathering information for other departments as needed and the oversight of the cycle counters on their shift in order to maintain the accuracy of Sysco international food group (IFG) inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the inventory control, and quality assurance functions effectively and direct staff to identify and resolve variances (and potential variances) to achieve an accurate perpetual inventory count and protect company assets.
• Review daily inventory reports for possible errors and report information to finance, operations, and merchandising.
• Communicate with buyers on all availability issues and assist them in resolving them to ensure the customer receives products of the highest quality.
• Check product slots daily to make certain product is set-up for shipping.
• Communicate regularly with necessary parties on the company’s status on product quality

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

• HSD or equivalent.
• College degree preferred.

Experience

• 2 years of inventory experience.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.

Professional Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organization skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Basic math skills.

Physical Demand

• Ability to regularly lift 40-50 lbs.

Work Environment

• Must be able to operate in multiple temp zones within the facility. (dry, chilled, frozen)

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY
Most important decisions made fully independently:

• Making appropriate adjustments that fall under the IFG dollar threshold and that meet international food group (IFG) standards of acceptance.
• Coaching and training of cycle counters.

Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required):

• The product may need to be adjusted out and back in, to properly reflect the product in the system to match where it is physically stored.
• These adjustments are reviewed the following day by the Inventory Manager.
• Hiring, discipline and separation decisions regarding cycle counters.
