Job Description:
Position Summary
To serve customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the warehouse to various locations, using a non-CDL vehicle. The role involves delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and company standards.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Safely transport product from the warehouse to the customer location, ensuring timely delivery according to assigned routes.
- Unload product from vehicles, either by hand or using hand carts, in all weather conditions, and place it in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Pick up, load, and unload damaged goods and customer returns, and transport products back to the Sysco warehouse.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines.
- Maintain food safety protocols, adhering to established guidelines, and ensure sanitary conditions in vehicles and warehouses.
- Follow preferred work methods at all times and report any unsafe conditions to management.
- Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including hand carts, pallets, and personal protective equipment.
- Develop good relationships with customers through excellent service, clear communication, and courteous behavior.
- Communicate with management regarding any route deviations, vehicle or loading issues, or customer or product concerns.
Required Minimum Education/Experience
- A high school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus one year of previous delivery or customer service experience.
Certifications and/or Technical Requirements
- A valid driver's license, with insurance requirements as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Safe lifting and delivery practices.
- Driving in varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing.
- Lifting, pushing, or moving product weighing up to 50 pounds by hand, and up to 350 pounds using a hand cart.
- Climbing in and out of vehicles, reaching to stack and unstack pallets, bending, and twisting while loading and unloading product.
Work Environment
- Occasional exposure to wet, hot, extreme cold, or humid conditions.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, confined spaces, and high, precarious places.
