Job Summary:
This Operations position oversees Delivery activities, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and prioritizing safety and security.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, following standard procedures and providing customer service.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal agencies (DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensure accurate electronic logs.
- Manage labor hours and supplies within established guidelines.
- Create work schedules, including extra days and shifts as needed.
- Oversee asset utilization in support of the Delivery department.
- Organize repairs and maintenance with relevant departments.
- Analyze delivery functions and productivity reporting.
- Suggest efficiency improvements and cost reduction measures.
- Enforce Company policies, protocols, and procedures, including food safety and record-keeping.
- Communicate with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to resolve customer or delivery issues.
- Visit customer locations to address concerns and assess delivery difficulties.
- Promote associate relations through regular meetings and open communication channels.
- Monitor associate morale and submit ideas to improve engagement.
- Collaborate with the Safety department on training, observations, and accident investigations.
- Recommend disciplinary actions or behavior modifications as needed.
- Execute management functions, including staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Perform duties of supervised associates and related tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar field preferred.
Experience:
- 1-3 years related experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Complete a Sysco-approved defensive driving program.
- HazMat certification preferred.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License meeting Company standards preferred.
