Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the night shift operations in a fast-paced distribution center. This role involves supervising a team of employees engaged in order selection, product replenishment, and order loading.
Responsibilities:
- Safeguard the daily work and safety of warehouse staff, including selectors, loaders, and night forklift operators.
- Coordinate labor hours and consumable supplies to optimize efficiency.
- Develop work schedules that meet business needs, including extra shifts as required.
- Ensure the proper utilization of Company assets in support of the warehouse.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve maintenance issues.
- Monitor and improve warehouse productivity, suggesting cost-saving measures and implementing changes.
- Conduct shipping and loading audits to ensure accurate documentation and material handling.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean warehouse environment.
- Train new associates and cross-train existing staff.
- Maintain open communication channels with associates through regular meetings.
- Address associate morale and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Enforce Company policies and procedures consistently.
- Collaborate with the Safety department on training, observations, and accident investigations.
- Making disciplinary decisions and/or behavior modifications when necessary.
- Execute management functions such as staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Perform tasks equivalent to those supervised by others and undertake additional duties as needed.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulatory agencies' guidelines (e.g., OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA).
