The IT Director is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s long-term IT strategy and vision in support of Syserco’s strategic goals and long-term needs. This individual will lead the internal and external teams that provide the IT Support function, ensuring that all Syserco employees have the tools they need to maximize productivity. This individual will develop and maintain an enterprise-wide business continuity plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of IT services in the event of a disaster. Proactively investigates and presents forward-thinking technology solutions that will drive increased performance and efficiencies. Responsible for the IT budget, vendor relationships, and contracts. Full operational ownership of our Network Infrastructure, Microsoft AD, VM environment, onsite storage subsystems and all Cloud services. Execute and integrate new technologies. Empower executive leadership to guide technology strategy within established expectations. Although reporting directly to the CFO, the IT Director will partner with all stakeholders to help identify, categorize, prioritize, and strategize the implementation of any new technology or changes to current practices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Actively contributes to company direction and strategy
  • Manage and direct the IT support team
  • Role models the company purpose and values and guides the company culture
  • Participates in the formation of the company’s strategy plan to achieve maximum return and minimum risk
  • Articulate the strategic vision of Syserco’s user of information technology to the company
  • Provide employee (end-user) and departmental-level training
  • Manages vendors responsible for the organization’s ServiceDesk, System / Database Administration and Network Engineering
  • Maintain company hardware and software programs, Cloud applications and licensing
  • Establishes metrics, employs dashboards to monitor IT service level agreements with enterprise customers and ensures that service levels are being met. Guarantees that quality service is provided
  • Responsible for thorough documentation, staff and end-user communication plus change management of all new or changing technical requirements
  • Identifies and analyzes trends in operations (through support calls, staff performance, feedback tools, performance against budgets, project performance, etc.)
  • Develops, proposes and manages solutions to achieve or exceed performance expectations for those operations under their position’s scope of responsibility
  • Ensures operational goals and approved project plans include a thorough evaluation of all areas of cross-group dependency
  • Oversees the evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of enterprise information systems and solutions, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems
  • Negotiates major IT acquisition contracts, soliciting the involvement and participation of other teams as appropriate
  • Monthly reporting on status of IT metrics and efforts
  • Establishes IT policies and procedures in line with industry best practices that govern technology at Syserco. Policy governance includes IT-related design and engineering standards, disaster response standards, and service-level standards
  • Facilitates discussions with peer leaders to establish the systems and processes for their respective teams
  • Identifying and prioritizing the operational goals and objectives
  • Developing project plans and presentation of projects
  • Exerting authority and guidance to ensure IT investments and acquisitions follow established standards, fit with strategic vision and meet fiscal expectations
  • Providing regular Executive Team updates on project critical developments and offering comprehensive solutions with costs and risk assessments
  • Maintaining systems and IT equipment
  • Continuously evaluates and adapts the IT organizational model to ensure that it enables IT to deliver on its strategic and operational initiatives
  • Achieve and maintain defined network and application uptime and service levels with an eye toward constant improvement
  • Achieve and maintain defined Service Desk service levels with an eye toward constant improvement
  • Define and follow relevant technology and operational budgets and relevant key performance indicators
  • Build and manage technology project processes and metrics in conjunction with Syserco leadership
  • Meet agreed-upon KPIs in financial reporting areas of ServiceDesk, IT operations and projects
  • Adhere to Syserco’s policies and procedures, HR, safety plan and others

SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Excellent time management and communication skills

Ability to work independently and unsupervised

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and 8-10 years related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience with ISO 27001 Certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Operation of standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications and use of computer equipment for extended periods

May be required to sit, stand, bend, climb and lift, push or carry items less than 50 lbs. around the office and on occasion job sites

Valid CA drivers’ license and ability to drive and operate a vehicle is required
