JOB DESCRIPTION :
L3Harris is searching for talented experienced Systems Administration professionals to join the L3Harris Network Security Engineering Team comprised of Information Security Systems Engineers (ISSEs) supporting managed network infrastructures for federal government customers.
This position is ONSITE and located at L3Harris offices located in Melbourne, Florida
This position may require weekend, after hours or on-call rotations to meet program requirements.
Essential Functions :
Act as primary Systems Administrator responsible for patching and patch management.
Maintaining Linux and windows workstations and servers in both virtualized and bare metal implementations.
Interpreting vulnerability scan data to effectively address findings.
Maintaining systems deployed as VDI instances and virtual appliances.
Understanding and adherence to formal change control processes and workflows
Develop, maintain, and publish technical documentation in accordance with L3Harris Systems Engineering processes.
Creation and presentation of Technical and Operational Readiness Reviews in support of patching and upgrades.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security or related field, and minimum (6) years related experience; or a Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security or related field, and minimum (4) years related experience.
Minimum of (4) years' experience in Systems Administration.
Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA public trust clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills :
CompTIA Security , or higher certification.
Ability to leverage automation and scripting for efficiency gains.
Prior program experience working in a state or federal government WAN architecture is a plus.
Understanding of NIST SP800-53 or NIST SP800-171 control framework and FISMA policies.
