The Office of the Director for Developmental Test Evaluation and Assessments (DTE&A) has set a bold vision to revolutionize the DoD Test and Evaluation Enterprise. As a direct report to the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), this office is in the beginning stages of transforming the testing paradigm to testing as a continuum, shifting left and integrating stove-piped approaches, infusing enabling technologies, and driving operational resiliency.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior DTE&A Engineer/Analyst (Missile Systems) to support advanced missile system acquisition programs, including those under the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developmental test and evaluation (DT&E), systems engineering, and acquisition risk assessment to support senior government decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis of emerging DoD and MDA missile system programs using modern digital engineering toolsand historical performance data.
- Evaluate the acquisition and technology risks of missile-system programs to facilitate modernization efforts across the DoD.
- Analyze and assess acquisition programs to ensure the timely delivery of critical warfighting capabilities.
- Provide DT&E and Systems Engineering support, with a focus on hypervelocity missile capabilities.
- Review and assess key acquisition documents, including Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), System Engineering Plans (SEPs), Lifecycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs), and Acquisition Decision Memoranda (ADMs).
- Evaluate test results, schedules, resources, and technological risks for program reviews.
- Participate in working-level integrated product teams (WIPTs) to support Test and Evaluation and systems engineering efforts.
- Support Independent Technical Risk Assessments (ITRA) and engage in stakeholder collaboration requiring occasional travel.
- Develop technical issue papers, reports, and briefings targeted to senior OSD decision-makers.
- Assess and provide recommendations on DT&E policy and acquisition strategies.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science degree plus 10 years of experience, or a Bachelor of Science degree with 14 years of experience.
- Expertise in the DoD MDAP program acquisition process, test and evaluation, systems engineering, and systems analysis.
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Subject matter expertise in test and evaluation of DoD Missile Defense MDAP programs, software development and testing, and T&E policy.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition systems, developmental testing, cyber testing, and test planning.
- Ability to draft technical issue papers, staff summaries, and executive briefings.
- Experience working with Service and OSD-level operating practices, Joint Staff, Navy Staff, and program office relationships.
- Proficiency with digital engineering tools and processes such as CAMEO.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Hybrid position, with onsite work required in Alexandria, VA.

- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
