What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at SYSTEM LOGISTICS CORPORATION?
JOB PURPOSE:
The Material Handler puts away, picks, and keeps track of inventory in the warehouse.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepares and maintains records of materials in our inventory using SAP and Excel.
- Operates Modula AP/RS system
- Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks, skids and a sit-down forklift).
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment
- Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Efficient time management skills
- Proficient experience in Lean Manufacturing
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Computer skills (e.g., SAP, Excel, including MS Office)
- Experience operating a forklift
- Experience operating AP/RS systems preferred
- Excellent verbal communication skills
