System One is seeking an experienced I&C Resident Engineer for a project focused on advanced nuclear reactor technology.
In this role, you will will provide regular in-person oversight and support for the Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) / Ops Training Simulator supplier and will be based out of Idaho Falls, ID.
The I&C Resident Engineer will coordinate scope, schedule, and technical integration for safety system, non-safety system, and simulator project coordination. They will also support cross functional collaboration with procurement, licensing, safety analysis, and PRA.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity, with an onsite work model. Ideal candidates will be local to Idaho Falls, ID or willing to relocate. Occasional travel to Bellevue, WA and vendor locations will also be required.
Responsibilities
- Provides continuous vendor oversight of I&C design scope of work.
- Functions as a direct and immediate conduit of communication to facilitate continued progression of design activities.
- Travels to Bellevue, WA office to meet with managers and key stakeholders.
- Supports plant design oversight team by facilitating good communication between and partner stakeholders and managers.
- Supports I&C vendor project management by resolving / clarifying scope and schedule issues and coordinating with the plant design oversight team.
- Supports alignment between I&C vendor and company on technical issues, procedures, plant design strategies, and implementation of licensing strategy, including application of LMP to SSC classification.
- Oversight of a I&C Systems vendor including budgeting, staffing, planning, and monitoring design development progress
- Review I&C system design work documents covering design, integration, and implementation of software work products and other system design documents for nuclear demo plant.
- Identify critical high-risk areas and initiate proactive measures to prevent potential project delay.
- Provide weekly summary reports to senior management about critical task progress, potential delays, challenges, resource needs etc.
- Interface and management of subcontractors, vendors and partners providing direction and assimilating their work.
