System One is currently seeking a Civil Construction Supervisor on a 12 month contract position located in Earth, TX.
Civil Construction Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the construction o a solar unit.
- Ensuring the ground is level and suitable for construction, which involves significant grading work.
- Managing the civil aspects of the project, particularly in a sandy and rocky terrain.
- Implementing and adhering to the Storm Water Prevention Plan (SWPP) and environmental regulations.
- Provide oversight to the EPC contractor performing the construction work.
- Verify that the work aligns with the agreed-upon contract specifications.
- Use Procore software to verify drawings and ensure accuracy.
- Participate in daily meetings with the team to discuss progress and address any issues.
- Interact with each teammate to ensure safety, smooth communication and collaboration.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise on-site.
- Make effective decisions and recommendations to keep the project on track.
- Make necessary recommendations to the EPC contractor to improve processes or address challenges.
- Ensure that all environmental and safety regulations are being followed.
Civil Construction Requirements:
- 7-10 years experience in civil construction, preferably within the solar industry.
- Strong understanding of soil types and grading.
- Experience working in sandy and rocky terrains.
- Active knowledge of SWPP and environmental compliance.
- MS Office skills
- Knowledge of ProCore software for verifying drawings and project management preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively across different groups and functions, ensuring clear and efficient collaboration.
- Strong background in safety, with the ability to prioritize and promote a strong safety culture on-site.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
