Electrical Turbine & Compressor Specialist (Oil & Gas - LNG)
System One is seeking an Electrical Turbine & Compressor Specialist to support our customer in Port Arthur Texas. Responsible for the oversight of electrical systems supporting turbines and compressors in LNG and Oil & Gas facilities. This includes maintaining power distribution, motor control, and protection systems to ensure reliable and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical components of turbines and compressors.
Perform insulation resistance, hipot, and megger testing on motors and power cables.
Maintain and troubleshoot high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) power distribution systems.
Conduct routine maintenance on switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and VFDs.
Diagnose electrical faults in motor drives, generators, and excitation systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and loop drawings.
Ensure proper grounding, bonding, and lightning protection of electrical systems.
Work with turbine control systems, including relay logic, PLCs, and SCADA integration. Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, API 541/546, and other industry standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong knowledge of LNG plant electrical infrastructure and rotating equipment.
Experience with OEM electrical systems (Baker Hughes).
Proficiency in troubleshooting turbine generator excitation and protection systems.
Familiarity with hazardous area classification (ATEX, IECEx) and explosion-proof equipment.
Strong adherence to electrical safety protocols, including arc flash and lockout/tagout (LOTO).
Includes paid per diem, paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), and paid mobilization.
