System One is working with a manufacturing company in the Muskogee area that is searching for a Human Resources and Safety Coordinator. This person will be responsible for providing support to the HR department and overseeing employee safety within a manufacturing company.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations, including but not limited to, maintaining employee database, coordinating meetings, and posting job ads
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR department, including updating employee records
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities, such as recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
- Coordinate HR projects, including meetings, training sessions, and surveys
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, clarifying HR policies, rules, and regulations
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, such as absences and leaves
- Handle complaints and grievance procedures effectively and in a timely manner
- Coordinate communication with candidates, schedule interviews, and assist in the recruitment process
- Conduct initial orientation for newly hired employees
- Assist in the development and implementation of OSHA policies and programs
- Provide guidance to employees on various safety-related topics
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager and other supervisors to achieve safety goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Proficient in MS Office, with fast computer typing skills
- Strong conflict-resolution skills to handle grievances and complaints effectively
- Basic knowledge of labor laws to ensure legal compliance in HR and safety practices
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels
- Bilingual skills preferred
Required Education and Experience:
- Proven experience as an HR Assistant, Staff Assistant, or in a relevant human resources/administrative position
- Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS (Human Resources Information System or Human Resources Management System)
- Familiarity with ATS (Applicant Tracking System) software and resume databases
- Basic knowledge of labor laws
- High School Diploma required
