The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering training programs to enhance workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Administer existing safety training sessions tailored to laboratory staff, focusing on industrial safety protocols, hazard recognition, emergency response, and the proper use of safety equipment, such as forklifts, lockout/tagout processes, and potentially electrical work.
- Develop, update, and maintain training materials and documentation, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA, ANSI).
- Lead classroom and hands-on safety demonstrations, ensuring participants gain both theoretical and practical knowledge and experience.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs, gathering feedback to make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards by reviewing lab safety protocols and recommending improvements when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and certification completion in accordance with our client’s training procedures and processes.
- Collaborate with lab managers and safety officers to identify areas for improvement and develop additional training programs as required.
- Stay current with changes in safety regulations and technologies to ensure that training materials remain up-to-date and relevant.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as an office or LMS administrator within a regulated industry preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial safety training, with a deep understanding of safety protocols, equipment, and emergency procedures in laboratory or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and standards such as OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and EPA.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a diverse group of learners and deliver training effectively.
- Ability to translate complex safety concepts into clear, understandable instructions.
- Certification in industrial safety training or related fields (e.g., OSHA Trainer Certification, First Aid/CPR).
- Prior experience in a laboratory or industrial setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
- High degree of trust, integrity, and open communication with all team members.
- Ability to develop custom training programs based on specific client needs.
- Familiarity with modern safety training technologies (e.g., virtual training, interactive safety simulations).
- Previous experience as a contractor or instructor in industrial or laboratory environments is a plus.
