System One is assisting their client in hiring a contract CNC Machinist located in Broussard, LA immediately.
This position is responsible for working efficiently under the guidance of supervisor to carry out the repair or production operations as specified in the provided job packet. CNC Lathes, essential measuring equipment and limited machine specific on the job training shall be provided by the company for the accomplishment of such operations.
2.0 Position Duties
o Carry out CNC lathe operations as detailed in the provided job packets according to industry standards and customer specifications
o Set up CNC lathes with the guidance of a supervisor/mentor/programmer to correctly prepare for production tasks while minimizing machine down-time
o Load and unload parts/pipe between machine cycles
o Maintain machine, equipment and facilities in proper condition
o Cooperate with QA/QC personnel to maintain acceptable product quality without unnecessarily diminishing production flow
o Effectively communicates with supervisor, providing updates on run times, scheduling, and all machine related activities
o Perform other duties as assigned

o Ability to make adjustments to machine offsets to maintain product dimensions within stated tolerances

o Typically works in a moderately noisy environment
o Routine exposure to the elements, including working outdoors and in a non-climate controlled building

o Completion of OTJ training (Safety Features and Practices) accompanied by an endorsed training record
o Completion of OTJ training (Basic CNC Lathe Functions) accompanied by an endorsed training record
o Completion of OTJ training (Basic CNC Lathe Maintenance) accompanied by an endorsed training record
- Current work schedule is Friday through Monday, days and hours are subject to change.
