ALTA IT Services is hiring a Mainframe Tier One Support to provide first-line support for critical mainframe-based applications within a healthcare enterprise environment. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving incidents related to production systems, ensuring high availability and performance for the health insurance client. You will serve as the primary point of contact for incident escalation, working closely with Tier Two/Three engineers and developers when needed, to ensure swift resolution. This role is vital to the daily operations of mission-critical systems that support thousands of users.

Day-to-Day Functions:
- Monitor IT infrastructure and applications to ensure peak efficiency and reliability.
- Serve as backup for Shift Lead during DCO monitoring shift and complete Shift Summary sheet for review.
- Monitor Mainframe and Distributed systems to proactively detect and prevent disruptions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems through resolution.
- Ensure proper procedures for introducing changes and fixes into the operating environment.
- Notify Level 2 support teams as necessary and use diagnostic tools for optimal performance.
- Initiate and coordinate calls for issue identification and resolution.
- Create and manage job schedules on Mainframe, Windows, and UNIX environments.
- Perform job restarts, overrides, and correct JCL syntax.
- Monitor Scheduler queues to ensure job completion and error corrections.
- Update Scheduler Base Calendars for annual processing and holidays.
- Build AGENT capabilities to communicate scheduling requirements across platforms.
- Contribute to new technology and tool implementations to improve job scheduling.
- Support upgrades and new releases for applications and scheduling products.
- Develop and maintain systems manuals, documentation, and procedures related to operating systems, subsystems software, and scheduling.
- Contribute to the establishment and monitoring of SLAs and performance metrics.
- Provide timely information for audit requests and ensure compliance with security and audit regulations.
- Follow IT Operations guidelines for audit review and approval.
- Provide technical assistance to IT Operations, Service Desk, and Application Programming areas to resolve issues.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for assigned products and services.
- Use available resources to research and resolve complex system issues.
- Collect and trend data for DCO reporting.
- Assist with daily system administration tasks for EDCS products and services.
- Lead maintenance and upgrade efforts for EDCS products and services.
- Collaborate with vendor technical support and other IT engineers on day-to-day tasks and projects.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption initiatives.
