What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Technical Specialist - Nuclear position at System One?
System One is seeking to contract with a Journey Level Procurement Technical Specialist for a long-term role based on-site in San Luis Obispo, CA. This position requires local candidates only.
What You Will Do:

Develop material purchase specifications
-
Lead, direct, and participate in special projects
-
Recommend and take action to resolve problems
-
Creation of Material Masters in SAP
-
Create and release DMS documents
-
Create and release inspection plans and characteristics
-
Implement approved Replacement Part Equivalency Evaluations and NMods within the Supply Chain Processes in SAP
-
Review, classify, and approve Purchase Requisitions
-
Create and update Bills of Material
-
Coordinate with plant personnel to support Supply Chain Processes
-
Conduct field walkdowns
Required Skills:
-
Knowledge and experience with nuclear systems, structures, components, and facilities
-
Familiarity with nuclear procurement procedures
-
Knowledge of nuclear plant systems and drawings
-
Fluency in engineering, maintenance, strategic projects, and supply chain cross-discipline processes
-
Ability to use independent judgment in selecting and applying procurement methods and techniques to find cost-effective and practical solutions
-
Proficiency in SAP, specifically in engineering, work control, strategic projects, and supply chain modules
-
Experience with technical procurement reviews of services and materials, including special engineering specifications and material processes (ASME, EQ)

Ability to become familiar with the company’s supplier diversity program
Qualifications – Minimum:

4 years of experience in related supply chain, nuclear power, or technical fields

A 2-year associate's degree in a technical-related discipline from an accredited U.S. curriculum or equivalent from outside the U.S. OR one of the following Professional Industry Certifications:

ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

ISM Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
-
APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
-
APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
-
NCMA Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
