System One Opportunity: Project Controls Planner (12-Month Contract | Hybrid – Houston, TX)
System One is seeking a highly motivated Project Controls Planner to support a major Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) expansion project based in Corpus Christi, Texas. This position will be based in Houston, TX with a hybrid schedule and is offered as a 12-month contract, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
Project Overview:
The Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) facility is a landmark LNG export terminal on the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay. Phase 3 of this project (CCL3) is an ambitious expansion effort that will add seven midscale liquefaction trains with a total LNG production capacity of approximately 10 million tons per annum (MTPA), supported by an extensive infrastructure network. This work will be primarily self-performed with support from a select group of specialty and service subcontractors.
Position Summary:
As a Project Controls Planner, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning and scheduling of the Corpus Christi project from the Houston office. You’ll be responsible for the development and management of project schedules, working closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed schedules for engineering, procurement, and construction phases of the project.

Coordinate and verify work scopes and integrate them into the master project schedule.

Conduct schedule updates, resource loading, and leveling to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.

Establish project milestones and monitor critical paths to support on-time execution.

Review schedule logic, scope completeness, and quantity reasonableness across disciplines.

Support and maintain progress measurement tools, including Engineering Progress and Performance Reporting (EPPR), Procurement Valuation System (PVS), and Subcontract Valuation System (SCVS).

Recommend schedule optimizations and adjustments based on input from engineering and procurement teams.

Generate and distribute regular schedule reports and variance analyses.

Identify schedule risks, restraints, and cross-functional conflicts, providing resolution options to project leadership.

Coordinate the development of bulk commodity release and manpower curves aligned with project demand.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.

Strong background in project scheduling, planning, and progress analysis on EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.

Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Working knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction workflows and processes.

Ability to manage priorities across disciplines and adapt to a fast-paced project environment.
