Our client, an electromechanical contract manufacturer based in Perkasie, PA, is seeking to hire a QC Inspector to join their team. This role will involve conducting daily inspection and testing activities on the shop floor, which encompass precision assembly, calibration, test/inspection, and preparation of special parts.
Responsibilities:
- Inspects incoming material, in-process work, and finished products for conformance to specifications and standards.
- Interprets and executes Test & Inspection guidelines per work order requirements.
- Develops and documents (with Engineering guidance) Test & Inspection procedures for new products.
- Coordinates in-house product test activities with Production to meet schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
- Ensures quality records and related data transactions are accurately recorded.
- Tracks and records labor hours and materials consumed in the execution of test & inspection activities.
- Inspects tools, fixtures, test equipment, and measuring devices for quality and calibration status.
- Collects and reports QC metric data to management as required.
- Identifies and resolves (with management support) tooling or training deficiencies that may affect quality and safety.
- Recommends (to Engineering) efficiency or reliability improvements to production methods and equipment.
- High school diploma and 2-year trade school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Prefer 3-5 years’ experience as test technician or precision assembler.
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, DMM, and oscilloscope highly desirable
- Must be able to solder and crimp to IPC standards as well as inspect solder joints and wire crimps to standard.
- Quality training in a Kaizen, ISO-9000, Six-Sigma or similar program is highly desirable.
