Job Title: Receipt/Mechanical Inspector – Nuclear Manufacturing

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Receipt/Mechanical Inspector to support the manufacturing of nuclear components in a high-precision environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and final products to ensure compliance with stringent nuclear industry standards and specifications. This is a long-term contract role based in either Turtle Creek, PA, or Camden, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct receipt inspection of raw materials, fabricated parts, and components to ensure conformance to purchase orders, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform mechanical inspections on in-process and completed nuclear components using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines).
- Review material certifications, inspection reports, and test records for compliance with industry standards (ASME, ANSI, and nuclear quality requirements).
- Document inspection results and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when necessary.
- Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure continuous improvement.
- Follow all safety and quality protocols in a nuclear manufacturing environment.
- Support audits, supplier evaluations, and corrective action processes as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical inspection, preferably in a nuclear, aerospace, or defense manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and ability to interpret engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
- Experience with CMM programming/operation is a plus.
- Familiarity with ASME Section III, NQA-1, and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B requirements preferred.
- Strong understanding of precision measurement tools and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret material certifications and quality documentation.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check and meet security requirements for nuclear facility work.
Work Conditions:
- Manufacturing/industrial environment with exposure to heavy machinery and fabrication processes.
- Requires standing for long periods and handling precision measuring tools.
- Potential travel between Turtle Creek, PA, and Camden, NJ, if needed.
