System One is seeking a
Sr. Electrical Engineer for a
hybrid opportunity in
Jamaica New York.
The Electrical Engineer will provide Infrastructure Engineering Support to include, but not limited to the following:
· Design low voltage power distribution systems.
· Prepare single line diagrams and wiring diagrams under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
· Coordinate design with other disciplines (i.e., civil, architectural, mechanical, structural, etc.)
· Adhere to policy for accurate project documentation for project files.
· Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
· Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
· Prepare detailed requisitions for low voltage equipment and materials.
· Size conduit, conductors and overcurrent protection devices per the National Electric Code (NEC).
· Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.
· Prepare and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
· Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
· Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
· Perform field surveys and collect required data as per project needs.
Required Skills:
· BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college. (Third party evaluation of ABET equivalency may be accepted.)
· 8 years of electrical design related experience in low voltage power distribution systems, data center design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection and Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS).
· Must be able to pass government background check.
· Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
· Proficiency in AutoCAD.
· Ability to work well under pressure and within budgeted hours and schedule.
· Green card or US citizenship required.
Preferred Skills:
· Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies is preferred.
· Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications is preferred.
· Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures.
· Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions.
· Previous experience with lightning and grounding protection.
· Proficiency in Bluebeam.
· Proficiency in SKM and the ability to perform short circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.
Pay & Detals:
· Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
· Must work 2 days in the office
· This position offers weekly pay, benefits & 401k.
· $40-$55 an/hour depending on experience
