Position Summary
System Tech is looking for an experienced Special Systems Technician that has a solid understanding of security cameras, access control, audio visual, fire alarms, and intercom systems. They may lead projects, assist with installs, and handle service calls. The Special Systems Technician reports to the project manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation and programming of new equipment, make adjustments to ensure system is operating properly
- Work with Project Managers on system design and installation schedule
- Perform repairs/improvements to a variety of equipment both remotely and onsite
- Troubleshoot system failures
- Manage time effectively to stay within time and cost limits
- Communicate necessary deviations to Project Manager to reduce call backs
- Collaborate with Project Manager and Dispatch for clarification of specifications and work instructions for advanced and/or unclear scope
- Interact with customers in a professional manner
- Properly train customer on how to use system
- Attend training and keep up to date on new technology
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3 years experience with low-voltage systems such as security cameras, access control, audio visual, fire alarms, and intercom
- Familiarity with industry specific software and tools
- Technical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Clean driving record and able to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to utilize tech support and other resources to resolve problems
