The Associate Network Analyst is responsible for managing the day-to-day IT operations in their designated IT discipline. This position requires a fundamental understanding of network infrastructure, hypervisor technologies, server administration, scripting, database management, and security. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining network operations, ensuring optimal performance, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance our network infrastructure.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR High school Diploma or equivalent AND Four (4) years of experience in Networking
2. Internal employees must meet all mandatory competencies in current position in order to qualify for promotion within IT.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

1. Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security

1. Complex System Analysis and Design: - Participates in system analysis and simulation across multiple platforms and functions within clinical and business areas. - Assists in troubleshooting issues related to hardware and software capacity, operating time, and cost/benefit. - Collaborates with multiple users to maintain, implement, and troubleshoot system processes, data structures, and new systems.
2. Problem Identification and Resolution: - Resolves daily production problems and issues, ensuring proper follow-up and escalation as needed. - Participates in testing and ensures proper documentation of issues and requests according to policy. - Diagnoses issues and identifies interventions to resolve unplanned system outages, restoring system availability and performance in crisis situations. - Completes assigned troubleshooting tasks during issues and outages with vendor and other teams.
3. System Management: - Diagnoses issues and completes service requests and problem resolutions. - Utilizes specialized analysis and reporting tools. - Attends and evaluates vendor demonstrations, reference calls, and site visits, and participates in RFP/RFI activities as assigned.
4. Project Coordination: - Completes assigned tasks within established timeline and accurately documents outcomes.
5. Team Building: - Collaborates with other team members in problem-solving and troubleshooting. - Participates in team meetings and events and contributes new ideas to the team.
6. Training & Education: -Participates in training sessions on technical and customer service skills. - Maintains and develops current skills and obtains new skills through both independent and manager assigned learning and development courses.
7. Leadership: - Continuously seeks ways to improve processes, applications, customer requests, and system upgrades, providing insights to internal teams and customers.
8. Policy Adherence: - Follows established policies of the WVUHS and the entity where the IT team member is assigned to work and/or employed.
9. On-Call Responsibilities: - Accepts on-call duties and responds with action, either by phone or on-site, as defined by department policy.
10. Adoption of New Tools and Techniques: - Learns new development tools and techniques obtained or deployed by the organization or their team.
11. Technology Optimization Scheduling: - Acts as a resource in development and deployment of appropriate scheduling for technology optimization and implementation timelines.
12. Strategic Analysis: - Offers an analytical approach to identify potential conflicts, barriers, and opportunities in health system strategies and roadmaps.
13. Server and Service Design: - Assists in maintaining highly available Windows servers and has fundamental understanding hypervisor technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, AHV, and other virtualization platforms as well as Ancillary servers/services. - Fundamental understanding of installation, configuration, and maintenance of server environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
14. Backend Network Services Development: - Supports core backend network services to support financial, business and web applications and application delivery (Citrix).
15. End-User Device Management and Security: - Supports end-user device management techniques and security controls using Microsoft end-user management tools, Carbon Black Security Tools, and Nessus Vulnerability Scanning.
16. Database Management Systems and Scripting: -Fundamental understanding of both SQL, MYSQL and multiple database management systems, including their configuration, administration, and optimization. -Fundamental knowledge of scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and Bash for automation and network management tasks.
17. Vulnerability Testing and Risk Mitigation: - Participates in periodic testing of networks to identify vulnerabilities. Identifies and confirms vulnerabilities and reports findings to senior team members. Participates in simulated attacks on systems to highlight and identify weaknesses. Has knowledge of and can utilize resources (i.e.: firewalls, ID/IP hardware and software) to protect sensitive information. Participates in regularly scheduled internal and external penetration testing. Applies set criteria for and uses criteria to determine the risk, threat level, and business impact of an event. Assists in analyzing out of band network and vulnerability analysis of new acquisitions
18. Incident Response: - Conducts technical and forensic investigations of security breaches. Compiles data and artifacts into root cause analysis form. Tracks and documents incidents from initial detection through final resolution. Works with senior team members to mitigate propagation of malware during a true security incident.
19. Security Support: - Educates customers on security issues and how to protect their data. Responds to reported machine compromises. Develops awareness of well-known ports and associated vulnerabilities. Maintains appropriate documentation during investigations. Performs security daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
