Summer Clerk {ESY & Summer Learning Academies}
The Department of Enrichment and Extended Learning along with the Special Education Department is responsible for the planning and oversight of afterschool, vacation, and summer learning opportunities that meet the unique needs of all learners attending Holyoke Public Schools.

- Embed research best practices throughout every aspect of program design.
- Engage CBOs and other enrichment providers in planning and implementing bold, innovative, project-based, and standards informed enrichment.
- Engage and support the best teachers through high-quality curriculum resources, professional learning, and ongoing observation and feedback.
- Involve and build relationships with students and families throughout the process.
Holyoke Public Schools offers programming that reinforces skills learned during the school year that will strengthen areas of growth while providing learners with a supportive environment for students to develop their academic and social-emotional growth.
DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Manager of Enrichment and Extended Learning and the Director of Intensive Services, and Site Supervisors, the clerk serves as a primary contact for staff, students, parents, and the public in the summer program sites.
The clerk welcomes and assists visitors who enter the school site and directs them to the appropriate staff. The clerk ensures all visitors sign in and out when visiting. The clerk will also support the program by performing general office and routine clerical duties.
Clerk PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in Staff Orientation Day on Thursday 6/26/25, with option for additional prep on Friday 6/27/25.
- Assists in preparation work, prior to the start of programming, to assist in processing student registration forms and printing IEPs.
- Maintains staff attendance for payroll
- Maintains student attendance
- Communicates and problem-solves with Transportation Services
- Places and receives telephone calls from Central Office staff and records messages
- Provides support and supervision to students when needed
- Welcomes families, answers general questions, and answers and places phone calls to families
- Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed puts it into usable form, and maintains this data as required
- Types and files correspondence, notices as well as reports, memoranda, and other documents
- Answers general public inquiries
- Performs other related duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Excellent general office skills
- Documented, successful (3) years of secretarial duties
- Strong communication skills
- Strong skills in databases, and Google suite
- Bilingual applicants (Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply
