What are the responsibilities and job description for the SY 25 Summer Site Supervisor {ESY & Summer Learning Academies} position at SYSTEM WIDE?
The Department of Enrichment and Extended Learning and Special Education Department is responsible for the planning and oversight of afterschool, vacation, and summer learning opportunities that meet the unique needs and pathways for students attending Holyoke Public Schools. Reporting to the Manager of Enrichment and Extended Learning, the site supervisor is charged with working in collaboration with various school and community stakeholders to plan and implement high-quality programming that will support improvement efforts in Holyoke. The site supervisor will be responsible for all management and operational aspects for one extended learning site.

This is an ideal position for an innovative and flexible, and focused program coordinator with astute organizational and interpersonal skills to respond to and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders (students, families, school personnel, community members, partners, providers).
Responsibilities are aligned to the Turnaround Plan and include but are not limited to:
Program Management and Operations
- Set up and manage transportation
- Coordinate schedules, facilities, and staff coverage with academic and enrichment programming, as well as data collection for all program activities
- Oversee facility usage
- Plan and develop field trips, family engagement, and special events
- Monitor supply needs, manage inventory and purchasing in collaboration with the office of Enrichment & Extended Learning and Finance Office
Student Support
- Oversee recruitment and enrollment and ensure the active attendance and participation of every student enrolled in summer programming.
- Work in collaboration with the academic coordinator to examine academic and non-academic data and monitor the success of students enrolled in the program
- Promote positive and proactive behavior support that is aligned with district and school policy; implement consequences when students fall short of behavioral expectations
- Communicate with parents and engage them as partners in the summer program
Staff Development & Supervision
- Work in collaboration with the Manager to recruit, hire, train, and supervise summer staff,
- Supervise, evaluate, and develop the skills of the paraprofessionals and enrichment instructors
- Facilitate monthly staff meetings
- Attend monthly coordinator meetings
- Supervise all staff in the program
- Work in collaboration with the Academic Coordinator to provide programming that is aligned with the benchmark and standards where students need the most support
- Work in collaboration with the ESY Coordinator to support program logistics
Leadership and Partnership
- Be a steward for the vision and implementation plan for the enrichment and extended learning programs,
- Work with department and school leaders to design and implement programming that is aligned to the district turnaround plan, school improvement plan, and 21st Century Exemplary Elements and grant goals
- Cultivate and develop partnerships with providers for additional enrichment and extended learning opportunities
- Assist with grant writing and reporting as needed
Other Duties as assigned by the Manager of Enrichment and Extended Learning or as required to support the Office of Enrichment and Extended Learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in education, youth development, recreation, public administration, or a related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
- Collaborative team player
- Ability to supervise and manage others
- Highly organized, ability to manage projects
- Experience with managing budgets or grants preferred
- Bilingual applicants (Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply
