A full-service design, engineering and manufacturing firm is looking to add a motivated Crane Service Technician to their growing team of Professionals near Milwaukee, WI.
General Description :
- Install, maintain, repair, and inspect mechanical equipment and including specialized overhead crane equipment in industrial facilities.
- Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work in in accordance with relevant codes. Install service on overhead cranes or electrical control systems.
- Fabricates, assembles and tests parts as needed, and other mechanical system parts using metal fabricating tools, common hand tools, power tools, welders, torches.
- Moves and replaces machinery and auxiliary apparatus using hand and electric trucks, forklifts, dollies, overhead and truck cranes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Able to read blueprints and welding symbols and to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Able to weld in position, overhead and vertical ups using stick and wire (preferred)
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA safety rules and regulations.
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Education and / or Certifications Desired :
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. CDL drivers preferred.
