About the position
As the US Defense Communications Manager for Systematic Defense, you will join a well-established, and growing, international marketing and communications team of 5 talented colleagues, whose primary purpose is to promote Systematic as a thought leader and the leading supplier of command-and-control software to an international defense audience. You will also work closely with Group Marketing & Communications, consisting of 25 colleagues who, on a daily basis, create awareness about Systematic and our other high-quality products that simplify critical decision-making across public and private sectors. The position is based at our office in Centreville, Virginia, US.
Responsibilities and tasks
As part of Systematic Defense, you will work in a global environment with offices in 11 countries across the world. The Defense Communications team works internationally with colleagues in Aarhus, Denmark and Cologne, Germany; and you will work to the Head of Communications, based in the UK.
As the US Defense Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our defense brand and identity within the US market, creating compelling communications campaign content, engaging with key stakeholders and partners as well as attending our events and exhibitions. You will be responsible for developing the US communications strategy and identifying, creating, and sharing inspiring stories from the world of Systematic Defense in the US, building and nurturing relationships, and supporting Systematic defense’s key marketing campaign efforts within your local US market.

In an exciting and growing organization, your tasks will involve:
- US Defense Communications Strategy: Drive the implementation of a comprehensive external strategy. Identify key defense stakeholders, influencers, and media outlets for outreach.
- Writing compelling content: Develop and execute news articles, blogs, newsletters and social media posts to strengthen Systematic Defense's brand identity in the US defense and security sector. Ensure consistency across all communication channels and materials.
- Networking and Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, government agencies, media, and influencers. Foster partnerships and collaborations to enhance Systematic Defense's reputation.
- Supporting marketing activity: Coordinate with Defense MarCom on key campaigns and tender support activity, creating engaging marketing collateral with a strong Systematic Inc brand identity.
- Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure positive coverage. Prepare press releases and media kits as needed.
- Content Development: Collaborate with the Communications Manager to create compelling content for social media purposes. Ensure content aligns with Systematic Defense's messaging and objectives.

As a minimum, the following describes you:
- Bachelor's degree
- Defense or US military background
- Experience with creating communication campaigns
- Flair for communicating great stories
- Experience in developing content for a wide range of formats such as video, blog, case stories, press releases etc.
- English is your first language, and you thrive in an international working environment.
Practical information
- You can expect 20 travel days to our other offices, primarily in the UK and Denmark, to visit your colleagues or in relation to internal events.
- We will be assessing applications on an ongoing basis as we wish to fill the position as soon as possible.
- Appear in office on Tuesday and Wednesday each week, and remote outside of in-office days. Some meetings/engagements may require in-office appearance beyond the Tuesday/Wednesday days.

- Systematic Inc. currently employs a hybrid work plan that allows employees to work from both home and in our corporate offices. Employees are required to attend in-person at our main office in Centreville, VA on specific days as designated by the company. Living in the Northern Virginia within driving distance of our office and majority customer base is considered a plus.
