Job Title: Communication Specialist-Int

Duration: 2 Years

Location: Nashville, TN

Position Overview

We are seeking a Freelance Proofreader/Copy Editor. The role involves proofreading and editing a bi-monthly, 44-page magazine and various marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and trail maps. Fluency in Spanish is encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

• Magazine Editing: Proofread and copy edit (magazine) every two months for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and AP style.
• Marketing Materials: Proofread brochures, flyers, menus, trail maps, and other promotional materials on an as-needed basis.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all content is accurate, clear, and aligned with the organization's style and tone.

Required Qualifications

• Strong proofreading and copyediting experience with an understanding of AP style.
• Proficiency in InDesign for editing magazines.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in editing materials for parks, conservation, or environmental topics is a bonus.
