Job Title: Programmer Analyst 3 - PowerBuilder Developer

Location: Hybrid- Lansing, MI

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Developer & IT Analyst with a strong background in PowerBuilder development (version 7 or higher) and advanced expertise in T-SQL query writing for Sybase and MS SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data management, source control, unit testing, documentation, testing, production support, change management, software development, and ensuring data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and modify PowerBuilder source code to document application processes.
• Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
• Perform data profiling, mapping, validation, and analysis to support migration and cleansing.
• Utilize source control tools such as TFS/Azure DevOps or GIT for version management.
• Conduct unit testing, document test cases, and ensure code quality.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system specs and flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to support test scenarios.
• Provide production support by analyzing and resolving application issues.
• Follow change management procedures and contribute to process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Some college coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in PowerBuilder Development (version 7 or higher).
• 10 years of experience in T-SQL query writing for Sybase and MS SQL Server.
• Strong background in data management, validation, and analysis.
• Proficiency in source control tools (TFS/Azure DevOps, GIT).
• Experience with unit testing, documentation, and software development processes.
• Ability to support production environments and perform root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with change management processes in an IT environment.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid office setup and continuously learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in enterprise-level IT environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
