Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing multiple facilities within the Phoenix area. Primary responsibilities include conducting routine inspections and repairs, managing vendor services, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, efficient, and operational environment across the assigned locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to maintain a clean and safe appearance.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
- Maintain and repair warehouse equipment, including forklifts, tuggers, and scissor lifts, ensuring safe operation.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and landlords for timely completion of external tasks.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules for facility electrical and mechanical systems.
- Oversee recycling, waste stream management, and hazardous waste activities.
- Maintain records for equipment manuals, permits, and safety inspections.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting inspections and permits, including fire, sprinkler, and emissions.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general industrial or warehouse maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Special Requirements:
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned locations.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address technical issues.
- Proficiency with tools, repair equipment, and maintenance management software or Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills for working with vendors and management.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, particularly for safety protocols and equipment records.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Prior experience managing multiple facilities or working in a similar maintenance role.
- Familiarity with environmental safety regulations and compliance.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and priorities.
Work Environment:
- Onsite role, requiring presence at two Phoenix locations within 20 miles of each other.
- Dayshift position with potential for occasional extended hours based on facility needs.
