We are seeking a Healthcare Litigation Paralegal to support a busy legal team in managing healthcare-related litigation matters. The primary responsibilities of the role include assisting with civil procedure and discovery processes, providing litigation support, and maintaining case management systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient case flow, effective document management, and timely preparation for depositions and motions within a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and conform pleadings, discovery documents, subpoenas, deposition notices, and objections to discovery.
- Track and manage discovery communications, including meet and confer notices.
- Provide litigation support for law and motion practice and assist with electronic court filings.
- Assist in preparation for depositions and witness interviews, including drafting deposition summaries.
- Monitor case deadlines and attorney schedules, ensuring proper coverage.
- Organize and manage case documentation, including large document sets and document productions.
- Review case records and prepare chronologies, including medical chronologies.
- Maintain an orderly workflow in assigned cases and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Communicate effectively in team meetings and via phone or email with internal and external teams.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate are preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on commercial or healthcare litigation.
- Strong understanding of civil procedures, including federal and regional court rules (especially in New Jersey and Pennsylvania).
- Proven experience with document management and e-discovery platforms, including Relativity and other litigation support tools.
- Experience with preparing case chronologies and reviewing medical records for litigation purposes.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
