This position supports the local Intellectual Property & Technology (IP&T) Practitioners and the national IP&T Practice Group. Key responsibilities include preparing and filing trademark documents, managing client correspondence, and assisting with trademark enforcement matters. This role is critical in ensuring the effective and efficient management of trademark portfolios for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file U.S. trademark prosecution and maintenance documents with the USPTO, including applications, office action responses, extensions of time, statements of use, affidavits, renewals, assignments, and powers of attorney.
- Conduct trademark screening searches using third-party platforms and perform common law searches.
- Correspond with clients regarding routine phases of trademark prosecution and maintenance.
- Assist attorneys with TTAB filings, including extensions of time, notices of opposition, and consent motions.
- Prepare and file trademark documents with WIPO, including International Registrations, responses to Notices of Irregularity, renewals, assignments, and powers of attorney.
- Coordinate with foreign counsel on trademark prosecution and maintenance outside of the U.S., including document notarization and legalization.
- Prepare and record ownership and name change documents for trademarks.
- Conduct due diligence on trademark portfolios.
- Prepare and file customs registrations and renewals with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
- Assist with trademark enforcement matters, including opposition and cancellation proceedings and cease-and-desist letters.
- Monitor attorney dockets and collaborate with internal teams to manage deadlines.
- Record billable hours accurately following established billing protocols.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 4 to 10 years of experience in trademark law, with at least 4 years focused on trademark prosecution. Experience with copyrights is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF tools.
Special Requirements:
- Knowledge of trademark filing platforms such as USPTO and WIPO systems.
- Familiarity with document management software and timekeeping tools.
- Ability to meet minimum billable hour requirements.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
