Job Summary:
A growing regional technology company is seeking a motivated IT Support Specialist to join its internal IT team. This role will provide hands-on support for day-to-day IT infrastructure, assist in user support and hardware/software troubleshooting, and contribute to AV network setup and documentation for client projects. The position offers room for growth and exposure to modern IT systems and Audio Visual integration technologies, playing a key role in supporting both internal operations and client deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the IT Director in the maintenance and support of internal IT infrastructure.
- Administer antivirus and antispyware solutions for company laptops and devices.
- Set up and manage Microsoft 365 email accounts and support general system administration tasks.
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware and software issues, including PCs, printers, and network connectivity.
- Support user onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup and account provisioning.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for processes, systems, and IT assets.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for technical support and project requirements.
- Assist in the design, setup, and documentation of small AV networks for client projects.
- Support commissioning of AV switch fabrics including multicast, DHCP, VLANs, and QoS configurations.
- Collaborate with project teams to assign static IP addresses and create logical network schemas.
- Ensure that AV network designs are standardized, scalable, and properly documented.
- Assist with integrating AV-over-IP and industry-specific technologies into client network environments.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of IT support experience, preferably in help desk, desktop support, or systems administration.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
Special Requirements:
- Familiarity with Windows 10/11, networking concepts (IP addressing, DHCP, VLANs, switch configuration), and common antivirus tools.
- Willingness to learn Audio Visual network and industry-specific technologies (training will be provided).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of AV-over-IP principles, multicast traffic, and Quality of Service (QoS) is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities across software, hardware, and network systems.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and clear communication with both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
- Eagerness to develop professionally within IT and AV industries.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Prior experience in the Audio Visual industry or working with networked AV systems is an advantage but not required.
- Exposure to switch configuration, static IP schema design, and logical network planning.
- Experience with project-based technical collaboration across multiple departments.
Work Environment:
- Based in the Northeast Region, primarily in-office at the company headquarters.
- Minimal to no travel required.
- Standard first-shift schedule, with flexibility based on project needs.
- Training and mentorship provided.
