Job Summary:
The Title Officer – National position plays a key role in facilitating real estate transaction closings by adhering to established industry guidelines and best practices. This role is responsible for reviewing title commitments, clearing title issues, and preparing necessary documents for real estate closings. The position requires expertise in national commercial transactions, which often involve complex underwriting requirements and coordination with multiple parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee assigned national transactions as the designated Title Officer.
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Review and examine title searches, abstracts, surveys, and related documents to prepare title commitments and policies.
- Order and verify necessary title searches and address any discrepancies.
- Resolve title objections and provide clearance solutions.
- Comply with closing instructions from lenders, purchasers, and sellers.
- Ensure all necessary documents are properly executed and recorded.
- Prepare affidavits, indemnities, and other closing-related documents.
- Verify compliance with company best practices, including wire verification and security protocols.
- Provide post-closing review and ensure policies are issued accurately.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and timely communication throughout the transaction process.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in real estate, law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in title examination, underwriting, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of residential and commercial title commitment processes.
Special Requirements:
- Proficiency in real estate title software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work standard office hours, with occasional overtime as needed.
- Must handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
