Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of custodial tasks.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
- Maintain floors through buffing and floor care techniques to ensure they are clean and presentable.
- Conduct commercial cleaning in offices, restrooms, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly.
- Carry out industrial cleaning tasks as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Support residential painting projects as required, ensuring surfaces are prepared and finished correctly.
- Act as a porter by managing waste disposal and recycling efforts throughout the facility.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A proactive approach to identifying maintenance issues and addressing them promptly.
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and facility occupants.
