Position Description:
BSG Development & Validation Engineer
The validation engineer responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Designing and executing DVPs for the propulsion system requirements testing
- Critically evaluating the requirements, designing the DVP, and executing the testing
- Identifying the correct testing environment for each test case (i.e. HIL or vehicle)
- Performing issues pre-analysis and possible solutions
- Identifying critical and corner cases maneuvers based on the requirements to draw out potential failures
- Activities are performed on Electrified-Hybrid Propulsion System architectures on HIL and vehicle.
Requirements:
B S G is the 48-volt belt starter generator, or motor generator unit. It's the little electric motor that replaces the alternator on your engine that gives it the start/stop feature, when your engine shuts off at a stop light and then turns back on when you go to take off.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university
- Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience (research graduate work may count towards experience)
- Experienced in validating and releasing of Electric Components for Automotive applications
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
- Knowledgeable in regards to GD&T
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes of electrical components Knowledge Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Onsite at CTC – Anywhere from 3-5 days per week
- No driving a Stellantis vehicle is required
- 0-5% travel required. Local, domestic, and international (supplier is in Europe). Most travel is during the day to local labs.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited University
- Components releasing experience
- Knowledge in electrified powertrain propulsion systems
- Knowledge in Power Electronics
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) green / black-belt
- Knowledgeable in use of Team Center with experience in NX in a production release environment
