Model Room Technician

Job Title: Model Room Technician

Shift time is 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

20-24/hr.

Department: Post Process

Reports To: Case Entry Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Shift times are 6am-2pm for training and then 12pm-8pm once training is completed.

Summary

Provides post-production support by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Pours models using a spatula. Makes sure end result is free of bubbles
• Grinds models to appropriate thickness using the model trimmer.
• Bases models in vulcanized rubber formers for a consistent look.
• Cuts models using a saw to section the dies for trimming.
• Trims dies using a low-speed hand piece. Dies are trimmed to pre-determined specifications.

Education and/or Experience

· High school diploma; two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus. Proficient understanding of basic Dental Terminology, a plus

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence.

· Ability to write simple notes.

Reasoning Ability

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
