SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Systems Programmer professional to join our team in Columbia, SC.
Core skills z/OS, JCL, SDSF, Disaster Recovery.
Partial Onsite - 3 days on site per week and as needed
Hours - Core work hours are 8 AM – 5 PM, required OT when disaster recovery exercises are performed 12 hours up to 24 hours to include weekend. OT and some weekends and off hours are required.
Minimum of 4 disaster recovery exercises a year
Required Qualifications of the Senior Systems Programmer:
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
• Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job-related field or 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
• Required Work Experience: 6 Years’ IT work experience including varied systems programming experience.
• Required Technologies: z/OS, JCL, SDSF, Dataset management
• Nice To Have: Knowledge of DASD management, z/OS HMC management, APF knowledge, DB2, CICS, MQ, BMC MF applications
Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Programmer:
Day to day operation is supporting the Main Frame z/OS to include updating JCL, monitoring system logs via SDFS. Preparation for disaster recovery exercises to include several weekly meetings. During the recovery, the z/OS and other applications as outlined in the runbook. Managing hardware/software support licenses to include submitting purchase requisitions.
This team is dedicated to supporting the external customer acting as a secondary portability and disaster recovery site. Currently there are 4 team members and one manager. We support distributed and main frame systems. Soft Skills: Strong Communication and troubleshooting skills.
