What are the responsibilities and job description for the Irrigation Technician position at T D T Corporation?
Summary: The irrigation technician is a highly detailed and experienced industry professional who is proficient in all aspects of irrigation systems. The candidate must be thoroughly familiar with wiring controllers and valves, pressure testing, trenching/pulling pipe, installing heads, rotors, valves, main and lateral lines, drip line, bubblers, etc. Candidate will require minimal supervision and conduct all jobs in a safe manner and complete all paperwork and administrative requirements related to the position.
Job Duties:
- Thoroughly understands all aspects of irrigation as outlined above.
- Operate turn-on, turn-off, maintenance, and repairs, for irrigation clients.
- Perform other duties within the maintenance and landscape divisions: lawn mowing, fertilizing, aeration, mulching, planting, low voltage lighting repairs, and misc. landscaping projects.
- Operate plow truck during the snow removal season.
Measurables:
- Meet daily work ticket goals for throughput and efficiency
- Adhere to safety standards and PPE requirements
- Meet job quality standards
- Maintain above 95% attendance rating
Desired Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in irrigation service and repairs.
- Ability to operate equipment and large truck operation.
- Knowledge in most commercial and residential irrigation systems required.
- Must possess a driver’s license, clean criminal record and have ability to pass a drug test.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Physically able to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Maintain a positive and supportive attitude at all times
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Works closely with: lawn maintenance teams, operations manager, supply yard team, mechanic, production manager

Typical Hours: Mon-Fri, 7:00am-6:00pm (hours vary based on time of year); some Saturdays
Dress Code: uniform
