Position Description

Position Title: Low Voltage Apprentice Technician (LV Apprentice)

Summary: T.E.S.T., Inc. is looking for a qualified low voltage installer that is looking for a career, not just a job. Under the direction of the T.E.S.T. Lead Technician, Associate Technician, and Project Manager, LV Apprentice run conduits, pull wires and make electrical connections in a professional manner using wiring diagrams and/or electrical schematics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directly supports Lead Technician, Associate Technician, and Project Manager and takes initiative and responsibility to complete projects on time.
• Troubleshoot capabilities for low voltage systems utilizing wiring schematics, computer software, and diagnostic equipment.
• Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation and unusual conditions.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations/guidelines.
• Ability to read prints and perform installation duties.
• Load and unload materials, tools and equipment to prepare for installation.
• Remove any debris, garbage, and tools/equipment to ensure a clean site is ready for customer use.
• Operate and care for tools and equipment.
• Follow the direction of supervisors.
• Work well with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
• Able to learn through direct instruction and on the job training. Complete training and certification in Bisci, Avigilon, Smart, and other T.E.S.T. manufacturers as assigned.
• Able to travel with reliable personal transportation and be flexible with hours.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and liability insurance.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must have excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver’s license. HS Diploma or GED is preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Must have excellent people skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and clients. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb ladders, lift overhead, walk, talk, hear and lift at least 70 pounds regularly. Employee is required to work in high places on a ladder or lift. Employee is required to work in small crawl spaces, ceilings, and other close spaces. The employee frequently is required to bend and twist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Employee will be working indoors and outdoors in hot and cold temperatures at designated job site. The noise level in this position varies. When installing equipment, the noise level will be loud. The noise level will be moderate at all other times. Employee may encounter slippery or uneven walking surfaces and will occasionally be working in close proximity to others. Employee will be working in small, enclosed spaces at times. Employees are required to wear a T.E.S.T provided shirt.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.09 per hour
