PROJECT ENGINEER
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Project Engineer acts as the liaison between the Project Manager (PM) and subcontractors, working in conjunction with the Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Site Operations Manager in the overall administration of projects. This position reports to the Project Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Project Manager.

A Bachelor's degree is required, along with 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry, including educational or technical training. Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Excel, Microsoft Project) is essential. Experience using RedTeam management software is preferred. Ability to read construction drawings is a plus. Must be highly organized, efficient, and an effective communicator.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Administers the distribution of plans and specifications to subcontractors and coordinates the subcontractor solicitation process.
- Assists the PM in preparing the preliminary project budget from estimates and ensures the accuracy of financial forecasts.
- Assists the PM in monitoring the project budget throughout the project's duration.
- Assists the PM in coordinating project implementation and ensures the project is completed according to the plans.
- Updates and maintains schedules with input from the Project/Site Operations Manager as needed.
- Responsible for managing the buying out of portions of the job as directed by the Project Manager.
- Acts as the company liaison with subcontractors to address any aspects of the project.
- Establishes and manages the general project filing system.
- Maintains the Submittal Log and coordinates the timely approval by the architect/engineer of all necessary submittals (e.g., shop drawings, samples, catalog cuts).
- Creates or assists with issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Prepares and assists with the verification and timely processing of subcontractor and owner pay requisitions.
- Maintains an accurate Change Order Log and tracks review/approval by the architect and owner.
- Assists the Site Operations Manager with requests for equipment rentals, materials, and necessary project documentation.
- Prepares project documentation and correspondence in the correct format and written in accordance with company guidelines.
- Develops and assembles close-out documents (e.g., as-built drawings, operating manuals, shop drawings, guarantees).
- Assists the PM in ensuring the quality of work and documenting performance concerns of subcontractors.
- Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and training skills to enhance individual and team productivity.
- Performs additional tasks or functions as directed based on priorities.
