JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Support Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with other members of Human Resources team. This position carries out responsibilities of general office support with a variety of activities and related tasks such as; answering all incoming calls to the main line, directing calls to appropriate team members, mail distribution, employment related request, requisition of supplies as well as additional office duties. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
- Experience in operating computers, filing, and maintaining filing systems. Experience in organizing, and human resources practices preferred.
Required Skills
- Ability to exercise poise, tactfulness, diplomacy, and good interpersonal skills in order to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answers main line for department and directs the caller to the appropriate team member. Will transfer a caller to a team member’s voice mailbox when the team member is unavailable.
- Greets and directs visitors.
- Takes and retrieves messages for various team members.
- Provides callers and applicants with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company website and other related information.
- Receives sorts and distributes incoming mail.
- Completes all employee record requests.
- Addresses thank you cards that come in to the department.
- Assists with other related duties such as filing and scanning of department documents.
- Creates and distributes company badges.
- Processes name changes for employees.
- Responds to external reference checks, verification of employment and loan forgiveness forms.
- Responsible for the ordering and stocking of supplies.
- Assists in planning and hosting organization wide events.
- Assists in open enrollment event. Enroll employees in health, dental, vision and flex spending plans.
- All other duties assigned.
