What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trauma Program Coordinator 8- 4:30 position at T.J. Regional Health?
The Trauma Program Coordinator (TPC) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining a comprehensive trauma program for TJ Regional Health in alignment with Kentucky trauma statutes, the Kentucky Trauma Care System, and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) guidelines for Level IV trauma designation. The TPC ensures compliance with all regulatory and performance standards while providing support for quality improvement, data collection, and staff education initiatives. The TCP works both independently and in collaboration with the trauma services medical director(s) and other members of the health care team and the management staff. The TPC is self-directed and self-motivating, plans and conducts work with minimal direction, and reports the progress of work to the CNO and Quality Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
BSN preferred
Currently licensed as a registered nurse in Kentucky
Minimum Work Experience
At least 3 years ER experience required
Previous nursing management experience preferred; not required
Required Skills
ACLS, PALS, and BLS required
TNCC preferred; must complete within six months

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Program Development and Coordination
- Develop and oversee trauma system policies and protocols in compliance with Kentucky trauma statutes and ACS standards.
- Collaborate with the hospital leadership, medical staff, and emergency department personnel to ensure an effective trauma program.
- Act as a liaison with EMS, public safety, and community partners to facilitate optimal trauma care.
- Maintain trauma designation and readiness requirements through ongoing evaluation and planning.
