Staff Engineer 1 - Structures

T&M Associates is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Structures Team in the Transportation Department! In this role, you will gain valuable experience in the rehabilitation and design of culvert, bridges, and small structural projects for the county and agency clients throughout the state. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement based out of Middletown, Mt. Laurel, or Bloomfield, NJ, combining remote work with in-office collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic structural engineering calculations for the design and rehabilitation of bridges, culverts, bulkheads, and small horizontal structures
• Conduct visual and in-depth inspections of bridges, culverts, and horizontal structures
• Prepare drawings for various structural projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accuracy and timely completion of drawings
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required; Master's degree preferred
• 0-3 years of experience in the design of horizontal structures
• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) license preferred; willingness to obtain a PE license
• Knowledge of STAAD Pro, RAM Structural, or Finite Element Analysis is a plus
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to develop accurate design calculations
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
