Position Summary
We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Floor to Ceiling Installers to join our team. The FTC installer will be responsible for assembling, installing (Allsteel Beyond/Aspect, Hayworth Enclose, and Steelcase Floor to Ceiling Systems), and occasionally repairing furniture from floor to ceiling. This role requires technical know-how, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.
Core Responsibilities
- Create daily progress reports capturing project progress, punch items, site conditions, and other information that affects the team’s progression
- Assemble and install commercial furniture, including desks, chairs, cabinets, panels and components
- Ensure precise alignment and stability of all installations.
- Follow blueprints, layouts, and diagrams to execute projects accurately.
- Safely operate hand and power tools in compliance with all safety guidelines.
- Perform on-site measurements and assessments to ensure optimal installation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues efficiently.
- Load and unload furniture on trucks with a high degree of caution to avoid damage
- Ensure all furniture is assembled and installed according to company standards and client specifications
- Perform quality checks to ensure all assembled furniture is free of defects and securely installed by team members
- Proactively communicate with Lead Installer, Market Manager, and team members to ensure smooth project execution, reporting status and/or issues
- Decommission workstations and relocate office furniture as needed
- Provide recommendations for improving design or installation processes when necessary.
- Install window coverings, artwork, and specialty items at job sites
- Ensure the workspace is free from trash and construction material at the end of each project
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
- Train and mentor new installers, providing guidance and support to improve their skills and efficiency
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects and address any issues that arise during installations
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Installer, preferred Floor to Ceiling experience.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 lbs. with consistency
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
- Leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as required
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work extensively under desktops; ability to regularly work bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling.
