Machinist - Manual Lathe and Radial Drill Operator

Job description:

T-M Vacuum Products is an established industrial equipment manufacturing company located in Cinnaminson, NJ (Burlington County). We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with experience in manual and independent 4-jaw lathes and 5-foot radial drill operations who will be an asset to our team. The successful candidate must have the ability to interpret engineering drawings to set up and operate radial drills and lathes. They must have the ability to complete each component from start to finish and inspect the components to assure dimensional accuracy. The machinist will be working closely with the welding and metal fabrication teams. This is not a remote position. No CNC programmers or operators needed.

Requirements:

· At least five years of experience using manual machining equipment or equivalent education and experience

· Knowledgeable in cutting tool selection, speeds, and feeds

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications

· Proficient with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges

· Experience machining various metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum

· Strong analytical and mathematical skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills

· Able to handle physical workload

· Must be a U.S. citizen

Responsibilities:

· Set up and operate a 5-foot radial drill and independent 4-jaw and manual lathes to produce precision parts

· Modify parts and materials with minimal supervision

· Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments

· Hold tolerance to /- .005 or better

· Perform quality control checks on finished products to detect and remove defects

· Perform routine maintenance on machinery

· Maintain high quality standards

· Keep a safe and clean work area

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
